I'm bored ☁️
Hello sweet humans, what space are you taking for you?
I love to write + think + meditate boredom. I truly I think a lot of my art + work + creativity is centred in boredom. Boredom might have changed for us in the last year, maybe it feels closer or farther away. The regular wait at the bus stop has disappeared, the gap waiting in line for coffee isn't written into your day. Our days are made up of urgency and one big pause all at once.
Boredom is the space + time to feel. And in this small crack of normalcy appearing in front of us I am capitalizing on getting bored. It's written in my schedule, I have accounted time for it.
This week for the first time in over a year I took myself out of my house to work. I sat on a cafe patio with my work sitting in front of my and just stared off into space. It was sweet magic and I listened to the construction on the street, a dog barking and stared off into space only focusing on the flowers across the street.
I think boredom is the magic of simmering in yourself. It feels correct to get bored in the summer. To sit in the stew of humidity, sunscreen and think of only the plants, noise or the galaxies in your minds eye. It can be a pathway back to ourselves, a tooling for centring, a meditation in the middle of the road.
Ways + Places to be bored + space out + do nothing
Take yourself out of your house, find a patch of grass, sit there, do nothing.
For 5 seconds
5 minutes
5 lifetimes
PARK PILATES (I maintain movement can also be a boredom practise)
Redistribute funds so other people can have the space + time to get bored
big blessings, for space + time + felling + boredom
I love you
xx
