far from moss
Hi friend, how do you come back to yourself? I have been feeling far from myself. I know I am far from myself when I become hyper focused on the details, fiddling with points in a vector illustration, adjusting type in a newsletter over and over, switching between tasks moment to moment. I am far from myself and I need to zoom out, focus on the big picture, the mission at hand.
I think this is the process of staying committed to ourselves, or our craft. The practise of the practice and the remembering what it is we are trying to do over and over again. I go for a walk in the trees, I look the the vividness of the mucky green growing across the pond, the moss on the trees and remind myself I don't need to do everything at once. And that also in fact I am not a details person in the slightest and prefer the messiness of being alive and creating, both physically (sorry to anyone I have ever shared pace with) and emotionally (sorry to anyone I have ever shared space with) I find the messiness of being to be a space of liberation. To remind myself that I am in-fact only human and I do in-fact have very few things figured out and I know nothing about you or your life and that feels like a great place to begin to create. In the unknowing and discovery and the I don't know your life. There I feel we can find play, creativity, interest, commitment to self.
staying here 🌊
I mentioned singing on the floor and rolling around last week and I stand by it.
This weird rolling thing I'v been playing around with in my classes, come roll with me.
Saying thank you to the trees when you use their branches to help you climb down a slippery slop on a hike
