I have felt allergic to my studio lately. Which is a sentence I have written 4359 times over the course of this dispatches lifetime. I don’t wanna touch a computer I don’t wanna walk into the room I have designed to be SO PERFECTLY MINE. I often think if i were to tell 7 year old Phoebe she has her own studio – she’d cartwheel in excitement.
But despite having a room of my own a door to close and the perfect pineapple lamp I don’t want to sit at a computer and write.
So I don’t.
The goofiest thing that unfolds in a creative practise is an idea that we could or would do something in this lifetime that we feel beholden too. A frustration of “having to do something a certain way”. Emails could only ever been written at a desk on computers and not on notebooks in parks. There is no possible unfolding of another timeline or possibility.
I think it is so funny when artists, self proclaimed creative people claim rigidity. THERE IS A METHOD TO MY MISERY THANK YOU V MUCH. A trite cry of “there’s got to be another way” because there is almost certainly another way. Each time I step off the path, the ridged trail that so many other people walk down constantly. I find more magic, inspiration, relief, information and the total buzzing of my complete body and sensation than EVER BEFORE. It feel easier, and easier to trust the process unfolding.
The magic of the leaves glimmering at you from the trail should not be ignored. The pang of “this doesn’t feel right” does not need to be hushed. Nudges from spirits and fairies cannot be held off. The enoughness of inner knowing to follow your own trail. ✨Just to know the magic you seek was inside you all along.
