Hi! I’m Phoebe (@phoebetay.lor), a writer based in Toronto. I’m not an alien, just autistic. I try to translate the experience of living from the inside out (so far it is not working).

You might know me fro my viral poetry My work ha been featured in Blog T.O, I was shortlisted finalist in the 2024 Grit List Festival and recently published works in Yolk Magazine’s issue 3.2.

What the heck is this?

Weird Girl (then called The Creators Dispatch) started in February 2020 (ahhhww remember how hopeful we were!) as a space to write about the creative journey.

Weird Girl has evolved from the 30 friends I pestered to sign up to my newsletter to a community of weirdos trying out loud. Here I write about autism, motherhood (while not being a parent), feminism, disability, and the shit white women say in their group chats.
I am especially interested in breaking up with the wellness industrial complex, not getting better and trying to meet myself, someone I’ve been told I shouldn’t trust.

To put it simply, I am angry my spaceship sent me down to Earth in the first place. 🛸
